I'm a trained writer and photographer with lots of talent but the prospect of phoning up to get the names of all the feature editors of all the national papers and their supplements is scaring me off. Is there a directory or similar showing whether a company's call centres are UK/Ireland or India based? I want to change insurance company from Norwich Union as I have had awful bother trying to amend details on car, house and particularly travel insurance, and talking with people who I have difficulty listening to and talking to accurately, and who can rarely give me answers anyway. Best way to advertise boarding kennels? I've been running a boarding kennels for a number of years now, and over the past couple of years I've noticed a decline in business, we also have less telephone inquiries than we used to, and more cancellations, often due to the customer having a friend look after their dog, rather than them pay for a boarding kennels to look after it. As far as my kennels go, I do put a lot of time, effort and money into it to ensure that it's appearance is up to date, is clean and hygienic and that dogs are housed in comfortable and adequate areas, yet still there has been a decline in business, to a certain extent, even from my once regular customers. The problem is, I'm not really sure where to go from here in terms of advertising, my kennels is extensively on the Internet, and when you type in boarding kennels, and my area, my kennels always come up in the first directory sites listed, and also when you type in kennels and my specific town, the kennels specific website comes up, which of course has all contact details, and email. Other than Internet advertisement, we also advertise in publications such as the Yellow Pages, local area monthly publication, and also we have advertisements up in a number of petshops around the local area. Although I think I've covered most of the area where I'm likely to pick up most business, is there something I'm missing? Am i being paranoid or not? work related problem.? My role involves emailing managers but there are many people who share the same name in the UK and all over the world. I also use an electronic directory but sometimes you can accidentally mail the wrong person. Lately, i have made a few errors, probably 3 or 4 in the space of 3 months total where i have emailed the wrong manager who have got irate and shirty. PayPal: How to Protect Yourself From A Chargeback? Some of my services deal with people from outside the United States- UK and Canada. Anyway, someone wants to pay me over $200.00 to submit their website to a total of 6,000 directories(500 for each website. 10 websites in total). This person says they are a verified member of PayPal and will pay by using their bank account. So this leads me to my questions. First, I've asked that this person send me a screen shot from their paypal email address showing they are verified. Second, other then a screen shot, what other steps should I take to make sure they never ask for a charge back? Third, What steps can I take to make sure the person owns this account? Pay Per Click Google Adwords or Consumer (opt in) Mail Shot - Whats better? I have a property related website - its for holiday home owners to advertise their property for sale or rent privately - no agents, commission etc. I have done a lot of the free SEO - ie I have a blog, keywords on website, submit articles, directories etc and now I am ready to step things up a bit... I have already paid for an advert in a property/holiday publication... What is better - pay per click with Google OR paying a UK company to send a mailshot to their opt-in list of consumers who have registered an interest in overseas property in some way (maybe ticked a survey that they own a holiday home etc) PPC looks to be a lot cheaper - mailshots are around £100 per thousand emails (the price goes down the more you send) Any advice on how to increase exposure for my website and whether PPC or consumer emails are worth it and which is better? Advice and Help with my SEO? Hi people, I was wondering if people here could lend me a hand with the SEO on my companies website. I run a web and graphic design company in Dorset, UK. Working mainly locally and trying to target local businesses with our services. the URL is www.aztec-online.com I do have a reasonable SEO knowledge, but I am no expert. I will go through the steps I have already taken to improve my SEO and if there is anything I am doing wrong, or missed out please could you let me know. Currently we dont rank very well for many keywords except the company name 'Aztec Online' and 17th for 'Web Design Wimborne'. The main keywords I would like to target are, 'Web Design Dorset', 'Web Design Poole', 'Professional Web Design', 'Affordable Web Design' and all these but for graphic design too. This is what I have currently done on the website: - Worked on site content, getting a keyword density of about 5 to 10% Optimised the image tags, with alts, filenames etc Optmised the Anchor tags, with titles and keywords within them as well as keywords in url used keywords in title, header tags made sure my keywords appear near the top and the bottom made sure google can see all my links bolded keywords supplied an address to help it rank bettter locally I am currently rebuilding a new website at www.aztec-online.com/AztecOnline2, which I am going to apply all the correct changes to in order to have a better chance of ranking well. I have also started to try and build up links by doing the following:- including a link on every clients website web create a small amount of blog comments article submission related directories and local directorys google local maps email marketing am about to start with a press release finally a few web design assoications I dont know what else I can do, and I don't know how long it will take to start ranking.
