Email Directory UK

I desperately need a free people finder directory that is UK based or free cellphone directory?

I live in South Africa and am trying to locate a couple of people in the UK I have lost contact with. What I would really like to know is if there is such a thing as a free people or mobile phone or email directory that is UK based that can assist me. every site I have tried asks for payment.

4. either you try out those sites where ppl are to meet and keep in touch with pen friends from all around the world... for an example, i uses friendster site at www.friendster.com... and guess what.... i get to keep in touch again with my long lost friend as i came across that they are in my another friend's list... it's so easy and it's also free... anyway, best of luck to you then...
